Draconian Devils shows once again that they are the best when it counts!
Game starts with Draconian Devils recieving the ball.
And the first they do is clearing the path towards Begg Hrower,  Nemi  blitz, and its a K.O. Theese two players would meet again later in the match!
In Horrid SkinEaters's first turn they allso K.O.'d a player, but the ball stayed safe with Draconian Devils.
An odd thing this half was that nothing serious really happend to Draconian Devils's players before a Horrid Skineater had been K.O.'d, so the ammount of players remained the same at all time this half. (with one exception that will be described later)
After 4 rounds Nozdormu was sure that this game would go "dit pepper'n gror" cause of an sick ammount of "one-rolls". This continued throughout the half, and the re-rolls was gone before the 7'th turn.
Still, even if Horrid SkinEaters managed to get hold of the ball at one point, Huhurana could run in a easy TD in the 8'th turn. With only one turn left, Nozdormu excpected a chainpush attemt, and therefor placed 2x linemen without block or dodge on the line so they would go down easy.
Ofcourse the targeted player was a master of staying on his feet, so the push was a success all up to the last block. There Capshaw wanted him to go down, and he did. The flaw was that the block was so hard that it resulted in a cas, and the Elf was out. And with him out, the last push making the score possible was impossible.
1-0 Half time.
Second half started with a "doubble one" trying to pick up the ball (well done Draughx) And Draconian Devils could put some pressure on the ball. Doing this they left the mid-zone open, and a -for the day really well playing - Falcondraw left alone within scoring range.
Horrid SkinEaters took full advantage of this, making a successfull long bomb (3+) and a 2-turn score made it 1-1.
After recieving the ball once again, Draconian Devils continued their turtling towards the endzone. A couple of fails, and very good blocking by Horrid SkinEaters resulted in the ball suddently laying by itself wih 2 undead tacklezones, and 1 elf tacklezone guarding it.
A blitz from the elf's, and then it was turned upside down.
2+ dodge -OK. 3+ pick up ball - OK. 2+ dodge with the ball - NOT OK. -Bounce; on an elf! Not managing to catch. -Bounce - On Begg Hrower CATCH!
This was in Draconian Devils's 5 turn of second half.
In their 6'th round, Horrid SkinEaters made a push on the elf guarding Begg Hrower and he then ran as fast as he could ending up 6 squares from Draconian Devils's endzone. He was then joined by one other undead next to him, and one undead 3 squares behind.
Now the loss was so certain that Nozdormu was preparing for silver.
One last hope was it tho; running in to assist, failing a GFI, and the last re-roll was used. The one-dice blitz had to end in a skull.
But no, Draconian Devils's star player Nemi did her job exellent. First block was a push, and then Defender down. The ball ended up in a elf tacklezone.
Without dodge or re-rolls it was a longshoot to get hold of the ball. But Mathrengyl Bearwalker tried anyway. 3+ dodge + 2+dodge +1x GFI + pick up = No problemo mister!
Capshaw was furius aboute this! :P
Horrid SkinEaters's 7'th turn, and they blitz Mathrengyl Bearwalker who choose a "dump-off" wich was successfully caught. The draw was close to secure!
Horrid SkinEaters followed up in the same turn making a 1dice block, wich was of the unnecessary kind. The re-roll was used, and Falcondraw was badly hurt. leaving Rook Hawkfist free for recieving a hand-off. So he did, and then he ran out of reach for any serious threat.
Bryll Qrusch did one last desperate move trying to stop the winning goal, but he failed the 6+ dodge and Draconian Devils ran in the winning goal, sending their fans in ecstasy! |
